Welcome to the club! I’m Carrie and by now you already know the basics so let’s dig a littler deeper. I am the wife of an incredible man who loves Jesus, loves his country, loves his family, and loves to travel. I am the proud mom of two amazing BIG kids — one in his first year of college and the other navigating college, being a newlywed, and a new mama. I am the overjoyed Mimi to the sweetest little man who was sent straight to us from the Man upstairs. I was born and raised in Maryland, but can’t wait until the day that we get to make the big move south. The hope is, in a few years we can trade in these dark and dreary Maryland winters for warm sunny days, hurricane parties, and beach days whenever we want.
I started this space in 2014 out of my desire to be better than I was yesterday, bring like-minded people together, and help people feel less alone. It’s changed here and there, but it has always remained a space where we can share our thoughts, experiences, and stories about life, friendship, marriage, and the wild ride we call parenting. I truly believe that when we come together, we can support each other and grow through all stages of life. Back then, I felt like I was a wanna be rebel. I felt like I rebelled against nothing and had no control over my life hence the name – Rebel of Nothingness. I recently decided a name change and a little rebranding were well overdue because I am no longer that woman, and I no longer shrink myself, my beliefs, and most importantly, my faith to keep the peace. I want to stand for something. So here I am.
I keep trying my hand at this blog thing, but it’s hit or miss with me. Now I am trying to add in a family podcast, which has proven to be very difficult with everyone’s schedule. I don’t know how it will work out, but we’re going to try, and hopefully, you’ll stick around during what is sure to be a rough start. I’ve also been the creator and seller of some pretty little things since I started this journey. You never know what you’ll find with me, and typically, my items are of limited quantity. Recently, I found a new love of thrifted and vintage items that I can upcycle and give new life to. Each piece is unique and one of a kind, at least when I’m done with it. If you see something you like, grab it before it’s gone! I’ve also decided that leaning into my faith and creating faith-based jewelry and apparel is important to me.
